I bought this for business and it is living up to its expectations. Hopefully they will come out with an app for it. Yes, it looks better when watching films but when using the Surface in tablet mode, it feels awkward especially in portrait mode. The hardware is still impressive and with the Type Cover I have the Type Cover 2 with backlight it could still be used as a Chromebook type laptop replacement. It is like a cross between a laptop and cell phone. Under the Windows 10 x64 folder, create a new folder for Surface Pro 3 drivers named Surface Pro 3.

You can create anything in here that you could create in your computer. My business has been using windows for years and Android and Mac cannot due what windows can. There is a reason the Surface 3 changed this. In fact I last went through this exercise last week, and tbh it was pretty painful! By performing an upgrade deployment, Windows 10 can be applied to devices without removing users, apps, or configuration. Several of the sites I visit are not available to me, that is the Windows 8, which I really don't like.

Performance is still solid, if you don't expect too much. Which brings me to the next problem: apps. While the old Tegra 3 was already considered underpowered back then, it still holds up quite well when running multiple apps on the background. Internet explorer actually froze twice with in the first week, forcing me to shut my tablet down. The major downside is the unrelaible performance in the browser, the lacking app support and the somewhat awkward form factor of 16:9.

. Therefore I think the 16:9 ratio was a big mistake. Gestures, screen rotation, window resizing, sound and Desktop and Tablet modes all work well. The task sequence will automatically install the drivers for Surface Pro 3 and the Surface app, and will perform any outstanding Windows Updates. It has Microsoft Office on it and that doesn't come on other tablets.

Tim Hi Robert, Very valid. Keep the driver files separate from other drivers or files. I won't go into the details, but it all started with Netflix not running due to lack of storage space, even though I'd un-installed all apps and deleted all user files on the machine. The keyboard receives power and is detected by the surface but refuses to type. Why wont they be releasing it on the tablet. Only official Windows apps from the Store, no legacy x86 apps.

The lack of apps was never an issue for us until fairly recently. I had not ordered a keyboard at first and that is a huge mistake. The unique features of Windows 8 tiles and desktop makes the Surface a winning combination of a tablet. The upgrade concept When you use the factory installation media to install Windows on a device, you are presented with two options or installation paths to install Windows on that device. It still runs Netflix and oher videos in the browser.
